WHAT: Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) will be hosting a virtual press conference to announce efforts by Ellwood City Borough to combat coronavirus. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is lending its support to the borough and the Commonwealth during this serious time. The Ellwood City Medical Center is in the assessment phase with the Army Corps of Engineers to determine its feasibility. They will complete any work and provide equipment to the medical center.
WHAT: Reps. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) and Joshua Kail (R-Beaver/Washington) will hold a Facebook press conference after drafting a letter to Gov. Tom Wolf and asking him to issue an executive order to use potential assets of the former Ellwood City Hospital due to the coronavirus crisis. The facility closed its emergency department in December 2019 for numerous safety violations. Months later, the parent company shut down the entire hospital and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
ELLWOOD CITY – To protect the health and safety of the community and office staff, Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today announced his Ellwood City office will be temporarily closed to walk-in visitors. Gov. Tom Wolf kicked off the 2020-21 state budget process this month by giving a speech to legislators in Harrisburg. This address is meant to set the tone for budget negotiations, but instead, he used the opportunity to rattle off a list of unrealistic asks which have no place in the budget process or in Pennsylvania.
