BUTLER/LAWRENCE - Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Butler/Lawrence) today announced $350,000 in state funding has been approved through the Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program to support water and wastewater improvements in the district.
“These projects are about protecting public health and making sure basic services are reliable for the people who depend on them every day,” said Bernstine. “State funding such as this helps communities address serious infrastructure needs while keeping costs manageable for local ratepayers.”
The following projects received funding:
• Ellport Borough Sewer Authority:
$50,000 to upgrade equipment at the Ellport Borough wastewater treatment plant. The improvements will help address organic overload issues, reduce sludge volume and improve overall efficiency.
• Municipal Water Authority of Adams Township:

The Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program awards grants to municipalities and municipal authorities for water, sewer, storm water and flood control projects with a cost of not less than $30,000 and not more than $500,000. Funds may be used toward construction, improvement, expansion or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply system, sanitary sewer system, storm sewer system or flood control projects.
