HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Butler/Lawrence) announced today Forward Township has been awarded a $216,100 grant for the rehabilitation of the Ash Stop Park in Butler County, through the Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2).

“Investing in our local parks and recreational spaces strengthens our communities by providing valuable opportunities for outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship,” said Bernstine. “I’m happy to see Forward Township receive this grant, which will enhance Ash Stop Park and ensure it serves as a lasting resource for residents and visitors.”

The project will include the renovation of the existing trail; construction of the internal loop trail and parking area; improvements to ADA accessibility; and landscaping and installation of a project sign to acknowledge the grant funding.

The C2P2 program, which is administered by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Bureau of Recreation and Conservation, provides financial and technical assistance to local governments, nonprofits, and organizations for the planning, acquisition, and development of parks, recreation, conservation, and greenways projects.
