WHAT: State Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) will join with state and community leaders to introduce legislation to require borough electric providers to adopt more uniform and reasonable rate structures. Presently, residents of dozens of boroughs across Pennsylvania see their electric bills increase by factors of 100-200 percent on a month-to-month basis without an increase in consumer consumption.
WHO: Bernstine; Rep. Pam Snyder (D-Fayette/Greene/ Washington); Rep. Jim Christiana (R-Beaver/Washington); Desiree A. Hung, Esq., associate state advocacy director for AARP Pennsylvania; Gabe Morgan, vice president and 32BJ PA/DE state director of SEIU; Beth Anne Mumford, state director for Americans for Prosperity – Pennsylvania; Carolyn Izzo, CEO of the Ellwood City Hospital; and local business owners, landlords, and homeowners who have been impacted by skyrocketing electric bills. Representatives will also be present from the Western Butler County Authority, Pennsylvania Manufacturers Association, and CAUSE-PA.
